ALL ORIGINAL !! GRADED POPULATION: NGC (46) PCGS (50) and ONLY 11 OF ALL THESE HAVE "CAC" CERTIFICATION. "STRONG STRIKE" and "SHARP DETAILS". Most usually have just average details with curls below BER in LIBERTY and the hair below the ear often weak. The reverse is always soft on the eagle s neck and on the leg feathers. 2 VARIETIES EXIST = this one is a HIGH DATE. THE DEMAND FOR HALF EAGLES IS STRONG AND BRANCH GOLD HARDLY CAN BE FOUND! CHARLOTTE GOLD HALF EAGLE. PCGS CERTIFIED and CAC STICKER. TOTALLY ORIGINAL - EXCELLENT EYE APEAL! MINTAGE: 84,151. The highest mintage of any half eagle produced at the Charlotte Mint. Strikes vary and typically will be average. The obverse is typically weak around he face and below the ear. STARS ARE WELL DEFINED. The reverse usually has weakness on the neck, the right leg and even the left leg. THE COMMERCIAL DEMAND for the HALF EAGLES in NORTH CAROLINA WAS AT ITS PEAK from 1847-1850. AS a RESULT, THESE COINS SAW RELATIVELY HEAVY CIRCULATION. THIS is an ORIGINAL GOLD COIN from the CHARLOTTE NORTH CAROLINA MINT.
